Authentic and complete Edo armor with original lacquer .With a toppai kabuto in tetusabiji lacquer finely made with 6 iron plates with rivets visibles, and with a shikoro made in iron then black lacquered. A rare iron plates 5- sections gomai-do iron cuirass with black lacquer and hemp cloth backing kuroasa-gake.

Signed on the right Myochin Monki Yasutsugu saku. Armorer for the Sagara clan, of Hitoyoshi ,Higo Province.

This armor was published in the past in a Japanese catalog as Historical valuable piece. I can join a copy of the catalog.

This armor represents the equipment of a Sagara Hitoyoshi retainer during the final years of the Tokugawa Shogunate.

All the lacing are in good condition .Haidate fabric backing was partialy stabilized with laquer or varnish due to age-related wear to prevent later alteration, price accordingly.

2 maedate included the original in brass with gray patina and a wooden maedate with mantras and gilded.

A wooden Edo period box will be included.
