This is a rare yumi-saihai ,a japanese Samurai Command Batton.

With a recycled section of a yumi , japanese bow.Reuse a cracked bow was a common practice among officers at the end of the Edo era.

Yumi bow wood,lacquered with natural uru:er section in matte bengara urushi typical of the period.The flared, notched shape is characteristic of a bow' s nock.Authentic age patina .

Tassels: thick aged washi paper tassels in honey/oxidized tone.

Central ball , gold brocade embroidered ball.A prestige element reserved for senior officers/karo.

Good condition for its age.Original patina and wear.Ready for collection/display.
