The fierce grimace was designed to intimidate enemies on the battlefield.

Original boar hai mustache mounted above the mouth adding realism and terror .

The 5-lames yodare-kake throat guard is laced in blue silk odoshi lacing.

The iron shows authentic hammer marks and age wear with some cracks typical of the Edo period. Good menpo complete in original unrestored condition
